ANNE PINKOWSKI

Bay area artist Anne Pinkowski began studying art in
Oakland, California, backstroking against the tide of
parental design. She creates powerful acrylic
paintings, steel sculpture, and asssemblages of found
objects, including the natural and man-made
elements presented in startling juxtapositions to
make social, moral, or philosophical statements. She
has studied art at UCLA under Henry Hopkins and
George Herms and credits their instruction with
opening her eyes to the spectrum of communication
through contemporary symbols. The compelling
work of Ms. Pinkowski has been included in shows at
the Pro Arts Studio in Oakland, the grand opening of
Gen Art L.A. at Kantor Gallery ijn Los Angeles,
California and recently in New York city's SOHO at
the Agora Gallery.

"Both art and computers promote communication,
information and the documentation of the lives
we are living. Art is my constant; all my other
pusuits are the variables. It is through creating
that I take the time to think about the things that I
experience, learn, see, and feel."
