Robert Rauschenberg 40" x 60" Acrylic/found objects on canvas

"Communicating to people verbally, about myself and society, is something I have yet to master,
but those that take interest in my art, and take the time to understand what I am communicating
are the people that will know the most about me and my interpretations of society."

"Then there is Anne Pinkowski, who creates intrguing assemblages of found objects that are poetic
in their own manner as the bozes of Joseph Cornell."
-ARTSPEAK, New York, March 1997

ANNE PINKOWSKI

Statement, bold and sly; image, deft and ponderable,
cut through ambiguities of undissected concurrence
in the crafted descriptions of Anne Pinkowski. Her
assemblages reach cleverly and heartily to the core of
the matter with twists of combination, association,
inversion and skillful juxtaposition.

After years of working in the corporate world to fund
her passion, Anne Pinkowski has relocated to the East
Coast to pursue her art career full time. She grew up
in Oakland, California and received her B.A. from
UCLA under the instruction of Henry Hopkins and
George Herms who greatly influenced her appreciation
for found objects and assemblage. Her work has been
exhibited in Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area,
and New York City.
